On the 30th October 2011 Keith Tarring, Pat Mammone and Ed Jones formed the inaugural Arise Running Team, raising money to fund the production, publicity and launch of our new exciting resource ‘The Great Hot Cross Bun Hunt’.
The resource is designed to communicate the Easter story in an engaging and exciting way to children aged 7-11. Its aim is to raise questions about the relevance of the Christian Easter story to their lives today and it enables you to help children encounter the true story of Easter and consider what impact it may have on their lives.
The material can be used as a one-off event or as the first step in reaching out to the children in your community with the fact that God created them, loves them and wants to know each one of them personally. |
Keith and Pat both took part in the Half Marathon, while Ed Jones, Executive Director of Arise Ministries took on the Full Marathon. Please note that both distances were classed as ultra-marathons due to the nature of the terrain and course—the tagline for the group organising them was ‘human endurance endured’. |
So how did the team do?
Half Marathon:
Keith Tarring: 1 hour 42 minutes 46 seconds
Pat Mammone: 1 hour 54 minutes 24 seconds
Full Marathon:
Ed Jones: 5 hours 9 minutes 32 seconds
